Abstract: This research assesses the transferability of vocational skills across industries in Nigeria, examining the versatility and applicability of skills acquired through vocational education programs in different sectors. Transferable skills play a crucial role in enabling individuals to transition between jobs and industries, contributing to career mobility and adaptability in a dynamic labor market. The study aims to (1) identify key vocational skills valued across multiple industries and sectors, (2) analyze factors influencing the transferability of vocational skills, and (3) propose strategies for enhancing vocational education programs to foster broader skill transferability and support career diversification. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from employers, HR professionals, and vocational graduates. A sample size of 400 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent diverse industries and vocational training graduates in Rivers State. Case studies will examine successful career transitions and skill adaptation across industries. Findings indicated high demand for technical skills such as digital literacy, problem-solving, and communication, with challenges in demonstrating industry-specific knowledge and experience. Recommendations include integrating industry-specific projects into curriculum, promoting internships across diverse sectors, and developing career pathways that recognize and validate transferable skills to enhance vocational graduates' employability across industries.
